Erma A. Kazmierczak

Erma A.(Kleinsmith) Kazmierczak, 91, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026 during a short stay at Phoebe Berks. She was a resident at the Residence at Village Greens.

She was the beloved wife of Walter W. Kazmierczak, Jr. They shared 66 wonderful years together before his passing in 2025.

Born in Warren County, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Edna L. (Howard) Kleinsmith. Erma graduated from Muhlenberg High School, and worked as a medical secretary for many years. She enjoyed bird watching, and was a renowned baker, known to make the best chocolate chip cookies, especially during Christmas. Erma and Walter shared a love of polka music, and enjoyed dancing together.

Erma especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and cherished visits from her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a generous, kind, and loving person.

Those cherishing Erma’s memory are her children: Walter “Pete” Kazmierczak (Debbie), William “Bill” Kazmierczak (Debbie), and Ronald Kazmierczak (Mario Ferretti); her grandsons: David (Amber), Andrew (Nicole), and George Kazmierczak (Christeen); Granddaughter, Ellen Rohrbach (Michael) ;her great grandchildren: Kenny, Tyler, Austin, Michelle, Ethan and Hunter; as well as her sister, Joan Rothenberger (Roy). She is predeceased by her siblings: Ethel Rothermel, Ruth Shade, and Jean Burgroff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10 a.m at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church 3121 Kutztown Rd, Reading, with entombment to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made in Erma’s honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or to Holy Guardian Angels RCC.
