Eric Hamlette

Eric "Umar" Hamlette, 63, of West Reading, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, in his residence. He was the loving husband of Patti (Fegley), with whom he celebrated 14 happy years of marriage.

Born in Plainfield, NJ, to the late Walter Hamlette and Patricia Craig, Eric served in the United States Army. He most recently worked as an In-take Coordinator for All About Children Pediatric Partners.

Eric was a member of the Outsiders Motorcycle Club of West Reading. Social and funny, he was always the life of the party, and he loved hosting company. His friends and family will remember him for being a good listener who always had words of comfort to share. He was a generous man. An avid sports fan, he loved all sports, particularly Giants football, Yankees baseball, and the Knicks basketball. The grandkids always knew Pop-pop would have Sour Patch Kids ready for their visits.

Eric's memory will be treasured by his wife, Patti; children, Brian K. Richard (Kayla) of Lititz and Erica A. Oatman (Donald) of Quarryville; grandchildren, Scott, James, Calvin, Cooper, DJ, Katy, and Travis; and his sister, Lisa Hamlette of Hampton, VA. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, and cousins of Plainfield, NJ. Eric was predeceased by his son, Jeremy E. Richard.

Services for Eric will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611.
