Emma R. Jones

Emma R. Jones, 86, formerly of Reading, died Jan. 17 at 5:42 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient one day.

She was taken to the hospital from the Laurel Center Genesis Elder Care, Tilden Township.

Her husband, Derwood M. Jones, died March 28, 1970.

Born in Plymouth, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Jenkins) Ertz.

Jones was employed for 17 years as a line leader by ARA Food Services, Wyomissing, until her retirement.

She was a 1936 graduate of Harter High School, West Nanticoke, Luzerne County.

Jones was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Reading.

Surviving are two sons, Barry G., Reading, and Carl R., Naples, Fla.

Other survivors include two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
