Emil Richard Skusa

Emil Richard Skusa, 82, formerly of Shillington, passed away September 2, 2021, in the Reading Hospital.

His wife, Joan M. (McMahon) Skusa, died on November 3, 2016.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Emil A. and Louise (Casterline) Skusa.

He was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.

Emil was employed by Local Union 743 IBEW as an electrician for 43 years, retiring in 2000.

He was a U.S. Pennsylvania Air National Guard veteran.

He enjoyed CB radio, Ham radio and going to casinos. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling and was in pistol shooting competitions. The family dog, Sparky, also gave him great joy.

Emil is survived by two children: Beverly M., wife of Gregory Leonti, Shillington, and Patricia L., wife of David Pressley, Wernersville; Four grandchildren: Margaret, Stefanie, Rachel, and Corry and nine great- grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, William Schoch, who died in 2016.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading with burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
