Elwood C. Heffner

Elwood C. Heffner, 68, formerly of Oley, lastly of Maxatawny Township, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009 at 10:18 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he was a patient since September 1st.

Born in Oley, he was a son of the late Charles and Helen (Readinger) Heffner.

He was employed for 35 years at the former Stanley G. Flagg Company, Stowe and last worked for Reading Tube, prior to retiring in 2003.

He loved watching Nascar Racing and especially enjoyed his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time enjoying the companionship of his dogs.

He is survived by his 3 Sons: Michael L. Heffner of Exeter Township; Bryan L. Heffner of Maxatawny Township and Chad A. Heffner of Oley. Also his siblings: Ernest Heffner of St. Lawrence and Carl Heffner of Oley; Dolores Keller of Oley and Gloria Dierolf of Fleetwood. He is also survived by his 7 Grandchildren.

Services for Elwood will be held in the Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley on Friday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Friedens Cemetery, Oley. Friends and Family may view on Friday from 9:00-11:00 am.
