Elvira E. Padilla Candelario

Con profundo amor y gratitud por una vida bien vivida, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Elvira Esperanza Padilla Candelario, quien nació el 9 de septiembre de 1944 en Mayagüez y partió a la presencia del Señor el 15 de febrero de 2026, en la paz de su residencia, rodeada del amor de su familia.

Fue hija de Domingo Padilla y Victoria Candelario, quienes sembraron en ella los valores de fe, trabajo y fortaleza que la caracterizaron toda su vida.

Elvira fue una mujer trabajadora, creyente y de fe inquebrantable. Tenía un corazón bondadoso y generoso; era una madre devota, una amiga leal y una persona siempre dispuesta a servir. Alegre por naturaleza, iluminaba cualquier lugar con su presencia. Si algo no lo sabía, lo inventaba con creatividad y determinación. Era sumamente hábil, le gustaban los retos y enfrentaba cada adversidad buscando siempre una solución. Firme, decidida y con un carácter fuerte, su perseverancia fue una de sus mayores virtudes.

Vivió la mayor parte de su vida en su amada isla de Puerto Rico, hasta marzo de 2023, cuando se mudó a los Estados Unidos para estar más cerca de su familia, a quienes amaba profundamente.

Deja un legado de amor en sus hijos: Myrna Vélez Padilla, Juan Carlos Vélez Padilla y Luis Vélez Padilla; en su nieto Gabriel Vélez; y en su hermana Bienvenida Santana, quien le sobrevive. Su memoria permanecerá viva en cada enseñanza, en cada consejo y en cada acto de amor que sembró en quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Hoy celebramos su vida, su fortaleza y el hermoso ejemplo que nos deja. Su amor seguirá siendo guía y consuelo para todos nosotros. With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Elvira Esperanza Padilla Candelario, born on September 9, 1944, in Mayagüez, who peacefully entered eternal rest at her residence on February 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was the beloved daughter of Domingo Padilla and Victoria Candelario, who instilled in her the values of faith, hard work, and resilience that defined her life.

Elvira was a hardworking woman of deep and unwavering faith. She had a kind and generous heart; she was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and someone always willing to help others. Joyful by nature, she brightened every room she entered. If she did not know how to do something, she would creatively figure it out. She was skillful, loved challenges, and faced every adversity determined to find a solution. Strong-willed and determined, her perseverance was one of her greatest strengths.

She lived most of her life on her beloved island of Puerto Rico until March 2023, when she moved to the United States to be closer to her family, whom she loved deeply.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Myrna Vélez Padilla, Juan Carlos Vélez Padilla, and Luis Vélez Padilla; her grandson Gabriel Vélez; and her sister Bienvenida Santana, who survives her. Her memory will live on in every lesson she taught, every piece of advice she shared, and every act of love she planted in the hearts of those blessed to know her.

Today we celebrate her life, her strength, and the beautiful example she leaves behind. Her love will continue to guide and comfort us always.
