Elvin L. Heist

Elvin L. "Al" Heist, 72, of Kent Avenue, Laureldale, died Oct. 18 in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, where he had been a patient since Sept. 3.

He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Thomas) Heist.

Born in Temple, he was a son of the late Warren E. and Carrie (Moyer) Heist.

Heist had been employed for 30 years by Carpenter Technology Corp., retiring as general traffic manager in 1989.

He was a 1947 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Heist was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He is also survived by two daughters, Louise A. (Heist) Meier, Fleetwood, and Cathy A. (Heist) Koehler, West Chester.

There are also six grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Viewing Wednesday 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Private burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
