Elton I. Kerchner

Elton I. Kerchner, 86 of Windsor Township died May 29th in his residence. He was the husband of Betty J. (Spatz) Kerchner to whom he was married for 20 years. He was born in Windsor Township and was the son of the late Charles M. and Cora E. (Mengel) Kerchner. He was a self-employed farmer for 62 years. Elton was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Stony Run and a 32-year member of the Kutztown Grange #1836. He attended the Bridge Church in Hamburg. In addition to his wife, Elton is survived by one step-daughter, Debra wife of Dennis Miller, Hamburg, one step-son, Clarkson S. husband of Debra K. Zimmerman, Hamburg, five step-grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren and one sister, Ella C. Berger, Kutztown. Six sisters, five brothers and a stepson, Daniel R. Zimmerman on July 5, 2011, predeceased Elton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM from the Bridge Church, 3561 Old 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, June 3rd at 11:00 AM at Friedens Cemetery, Stony Run. There is no funeral procession from the funeral home.
