Elsie S. Gardner

Elsie S. (Schmeck) Gardner, 93 formerly of Fleetwood died April 10, 2008 at 4:20 p.m. in Manorcare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

She was the wife of the late John F. Gardner who died February 4, 1985.

Born December 7, 1914 in Pricetown she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mamie (Marks) Schmeck.

Elsie was a member of Salem Shalter's Lutheran Church, Alsace Township.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Sandra J. (Moyer) Gardner of Harleysville; two grandsons; Cory A., husband of Monica E. (Reynolds) Gardner of Perkiomenville and Timothy L., husband of Janis C. (Weldon) of Fleetwood.

In addition there are four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Collin and Cooper also surviving.

Elsie was predeceased by a son, Donald F. Gardner and a daughter Sandra Gardner and several brothers and sisters.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. Lesley J. Hand officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Shalter Cemetery, Alsace Township.
