Elsie E. Ney

Elsie E. Ney, 89 of Hamburg died April 19, 2011, in Berks Heim surrounded by her loving daughters. Elsie was born in Wernersville and was the daughter of the late Irwin H. and Grace (Schmehl) Katzaman. Elsie was self employed as a cleaning lady throughout the Hamburg Area working for various homes and businesses until she retired. Elsie enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching people and traffic go by. She enjoyed search-a-word puzzles and winning those tissues playing bingo at the Heim. When you meet Elsie, you thought she was a cutie, but she had a feisty side to her. She was loved by many but didn't realize it. Elsie is survived by 2 daughters, Gerry Wagner, Bernville and Shirley Ney, Hamburg, 1 grandson, Douglas Shade, Richland, PA and a great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th St., Reading, PA 19604. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM from Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th St. Hamburg. A viewing will be held 9:30 AM till time of service.
