Elsie E. Witwer

Elsie E. (Hurst) Witwer, 86, of Laureldale died December 19, 2009 at 9:45 a.m. in Spruce Manor, West Reading.

She was the wife of Homer E. Witwer who died July 20, 2002.

Born September 12, 1923 in Laureldale she was a daughter of the late John and Florence (Shultz) Hurst.

Elsie was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She was employed as a glove maker with Meinick's Glove Factory, Reading as well as Rosedale Knitting Mills.

Surviving is a daughter Lauren K. (Witwer) Haag of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include 2 grandchildren, Kelly and Richard and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale with Rev. Grant A. Wickert officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
