Elsie E. Lafaver

Elsie E. (Reis) LaFaver, 85, formerly of North Franklin Street, Fleetwood, died January 29th at 4:00 pm in Reading Hospital and Medical Center where she had been since Thursday.

She was taken there from ManorCare Health Services, Laureldale, where she had been since October 1998.

LaFaver was the widow of Harold A. LaFaver who died October 13, 1996.

Born in Maidencreek Township, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Katie (Erb) Reis.

She was employed for 15 years as a machine operator for the former Jay-El Manufacturing, Fleetwood until her retirement in 1984.

LaFaver was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood.

She is survived by two sons, Richard G. LaFaver and Dennis R. LaFaver both of Fleetwood.

Other survivors include four daughters, Shirley A. (LaFaver)widow of Robert Young of Topton, Sandra M. (LaFaver)widow of Kenneth Weitzel of Topton, Donna L. (LaFaver) wife of Randy Frey, Sr., of Topton and Karen B. (LaFaver) Leiby of Fleetwood.

Additional survivor include a brother, Elwood Reis of Leesport, 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia M. LaFaver who died in 1940.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner-Daniel officiating. Viewing 9am until time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522.
