Elsie E. Cooper

Elsie Ellen (Lutz) Cooper, 89, formerly of Laureldale, died April 10, 2012 in ManorCare Health Services, Inc., Muhlenberg Township.

She was married June 28, 1947 to Maurice S. Cooper, who died April 26, 2011.

Born in Oley Township on October 6, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Esther (Reider) Lutz.

She was a member of Robeson Lutheran Church.

Elsie was employed a number of years with VF Corporation, Reading and later at McCrory's, Muhlenberg Township as a sales clerk for 25 years, retiring in 1989.

She is survived by two children: Dennis R., husband of Kathy L. (Borrell) Cooper of Spring Township and Donna M., wife of Richard W. Long of Perry Township and a granddaughter, Jessica A. Long.

Elsie is also survived by two brothers: Robert Lutz and Fred Lutz and four sisters: Edna Schaefer, Helen Miller, Betty Dombroski and Thelma Napoletano and a sister-in-law, Molly (Bieber) Lutz.

She was predeceased by two siblings: Lloyd Lutz and Sally Smith.

Services will be Thursday at 1:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
