Elmer N. Kline, Jr., of Kenhorst, passed away on January 18, 2025 at Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of Elmer N. Kline, Sr. and Rita (Giles) Kline, and the loving companion of JoAnn Marcinkowski for 33 years.
Elmer was a 1959 graduate of Reading High School. After graduating, he was drafted into the United States Army. He dedicated his career to Reading Auto Parts, Inc., where he retired in 2020.
Elmer was a car enthusiast and was especially fond of classic cars. He was proud to own several early 60's Chevy Impala's and 70's Chevy Monte Carlo's over the years. Elmer possessed a fantastic sense of humor and when he set his mind on something, he was determined to see it through. He loved animals, enjoyed participating in Humane Pennsylvania's Walk for the Animals, and enjoyed volunteering with JoAnn in assisting with the feral cat community.
In addition to his companion, JoAnn, Elmer is survived by his sons, Ronald Kline, of Exeter Township, and Ryan Kline, of Newport. Also surviving is his step-son, Thomas Slovik (Eileen), of Mohrsville and JoAnn's daughters, Kristen Schittler (Mike), of Fleetwood, and Tracy Brown (Mike), of Robesonia, along with their children: Michael Schittler, Heather Schittler, and Hayden Christ.
Elmer was predeceased by his son, Randall Kline, sister, Sandra Billman, and nephew, Terry Kline.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
