Elmer Lloyd Heckman III, 69, passed away June 29, 2026, in his sister’s Fleetwood residence.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Elmer, Jr. and Helen (Kofroth) Heckman.
He was the husband of Karen Ann (Tylka) Heckman.
Elmer was a 1974 graduate of Reading High School.
He was a employed by A.W. Golden as an auto mechanic.
Elmer was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly fond of watching the Reading Royals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also had a strong passion for actively participating in Meck racing. In his leisure time, he relished dining out and indulging in cop and crime television shows. Most importantly, Elmer cherished moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Brittany Heckman, wife of Alex, Whittany Heckman, wife of Josh, and Elizabeth Heckman, wife of Asim; one step-son, David Shuman; two siblings, Arthur Heckman, husband of Mattie, and Sharen Gift, widow of David. He is also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Services will be Sunday July 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560. Burial will be private. A viewing will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
