Elliott S. Barnett, 77, passed away peacefully, on Friday, April 6, 2018, in The Reading Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Gloria Luella (Ludwig) Barnett.
Born in Reading PA, Elliott was the son of the late Dr. Thomas and Natalie (Salas) Barnett.
He was a 1958 graduate of Reading High School.
Elliott was a member of The Wyomissing Church of the Brethren where he served on The Church Board.
Elliott was a U.S. Navy veteran and was stationed in Cuba in the early 1960's. He also studied at The Great Lakes Hospital Corp. during the Vietnam Era.
Elliott was self-employed and owned his own Insurance Company until his retirement in 1993.
He was a valuable member of S.C.O.R.E., Trout Unlimited, Oddfellows, and Malmente.
Elliott was an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed his Saturday morning breakfasts with "the guys."
In addition to his wife, Elliott is survived by two daughters: Judy B., wife of William Creps, of Mechanicsburg, PA; and Tema Barnett, of Reading, PA., five grandchildren: Madison, Macy, Allison, Jasmen, and Michael.
He is also survived by four step-children: Charles Garrett, husband of Pamela, Lebanon, NJ; Christine, husband of Jerrold Larson, Ecuador; Dr. Edward Romano, husband of Anne, Far Hills, NJ; and Robert Romano, husband of Debbie, Clinton, NJ; and seven step- grandchildren: Danielle, Anna, C.B., Nicole, Joseph, Corinne, and Bradley.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 1 p.m., at Wyomissing Church of the Brethren, 2200 State Hill Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610. A gathering of family and friends will be held one half hour prior to the service in the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elliott's name to Wyomissing Church of the Brethren at the above address. Edward J.
