Ellen N. White

Ellen Neida White, 91, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, died May 28, 2012 in Seacrest Village, Little Egg Harbor Township.

She was the wife of the late John White.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Rohrbach) Mertz.

Ellen was a 1939 graduate of Reading High School and a 1943 graduate of Kutztown State College, where she graduated with a B.A.

She was employed as a school teacher with the Township of Birdsboro for 10 years, retiring in 1953.

Ellen was a member of Ocean City Tabernacle.

Surviving are two children: Dru S. White of New York, NY and Sno Ellen Mahla of Gainesville, FL.

Other survivors include her three grandchildren, Melody Mahla, Whitney White and Natalie White.

Ellen was predeceased by two brothers, George and Charles Mertz.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
