Ellen M. Naftzinger, 83 of Port Clinton died January 6, 2015 in the Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg where she resided the past 14 months. She was the widow of the late Walter C. Naftzinger who died August 14, 2005. Ellen was born in Reading, PA and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel S. (Schoch) Price. She was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School. Ellen worked as a machine operator for Burkey Mills for 14 years and Windsor Knitting Mills for 23 years retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. John's Church, Port Clinton. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Union Fire Company # 1, Hamburg and Shartlesville Fire Company and a former member of Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. Survivors include two daughters, Eileen Wilson, Blandon, Ruth Anne Rhoads, Tilden Township, four sons, Roy C. Shoemakersville, Paul T. Port Clinton, David W. Hamburg and James L. Glen Lyon, PA. twelve grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Lou Ringler, Jacksonville, NC. A brother, Ernest Price, daughter Sue Ellen Naftzinger and a granddaughter, Dana Naftzinger Lewis, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Monday at Noon from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg, PA. 19526. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Monday from 11:00 AM to Noon. Pastor Amy Kirkpatrick will officiate. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
