Ellen M. Mengel

Ellen M. Mengel, 82, of West Reading, died October 31, 2009 in Spruce Manor.

Her husband, Forrest A. Mengel, died April 21, 1991.

Ellen was employed as a knitter, working for the Berkshire Knitting Mill and then as a decorator for R. M. Palmer Company, West Reading, until her retirement.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, West Reading.

Ellen enjoyed line dancing and spending time with her friends. She was an avid sports fan, supporting the Philadelphia teams. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her son, Gregory A. Mengel, West Reading. Her brother, Lincoln DeHart, Fleetwood; her sister, Mildred Crimmins, Laureldale and her sister-in-law, Shirley Weller, Reading, also survive her.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association: 3544 N.
