Ellen E. Higgins

Ellen E. "Betty" Higgins, 82, of West Reading, died February 11, 2012 in Tel Hai Retirement Community, Honey Brook.

Her husband, Robert Higgins, passed away February 16, 1992.

Born in Dublin Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Rodgers) Feeney.

She was employed as a packer for R.M. Palmer Co., West Reading for 15 years.

Ellen was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading.

She is survived by two sons: Dr. Kenneth, husband of Beth Higgins, York; Stuart L., husband of Donna Higgins, Morgantown; two brothers: James "Buddy" Feeney, Foothill Ranch, California; Michael Feeney, Sydney, Australia; two sisters: Hannah Feeney, London, England; Brenda Crofton, Dublin, Ireland and her two beloved nieces: Deirdre A. (Reid) Fighera, Abington and Ann M. Higgins, New York City. Five grandchildren: Ian, Andrew, Conor, Cameron and Carly also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading. A viewing will be held 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Memorial Fund P.O.
