Ella M. Reuther

Ella Matilda (Tellam) Reuther, 84, formerly of Laureldale, died peacefully October 31, 2012 in Berks Heim, Bern Township, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Theodore Clarence Reuther who died July 6, 2009.

Born December 16, 1927 in Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Mr. Tellam and Ida (Homan) Tellam-Ziegler.

Ella was a 1945 graduate of Reading High School and a 1948 graduate of Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

She was employed as an occupational nurse with Textile Machine Works, Wyoimissing for 20 years, retiring in 1974.

Ella was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was a past member of church council.

She was also a volunteer with Muhlenberg Ambulance Association.

Surviving are her three children: Dawn E., wife of Kevin Ludwig of Shillington; Barbara A. Spease of Laureldale and Michael Wiester of Reading.

In addition, she is survived by her three grandchildren, Sara J., wife of Hector Hidalgo; Rebecca A., wife of Andrew Gibney and Wesley Light.

There are also three great grandchildren: Tanner Brugger, Mallaigh Gibney and Farran Gibney.

A Memorial service will be Sunday evening at 7 in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private Monday at 10 a.m. in Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Muhlenberg Township.
