Elizabeth Corbit Wolfe

Elizabeth "Betty" Corbit Wolfe, 95, passed away on April 20, 2024 at The Highlands at Wyomissing. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Edith (Fritz) Corbit. She was the loving wife of Peter Horst Wolfe with whom she shared 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2013.

Betty was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School. She further studied economics at Smith College and graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After completing her education, Betty assisted her family with their business, Charles Corbit Realty Company and also worked at the Heather Shop. Her favorite job was raising a family.

She was a board member for Family Guidance, a member of the Junior League of Reading, and volunteered at the Reading Public Museum. Alongside her husband, Betty was a former member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Reading.

Her father instilled in her the love of the game of golf and she was a longtime member of the Berkshire Country Club. She also enjoyed traveling, especially with her friends Peggy and Donald Bobb, and cherished spending time at her Stone Harbor residence. She had a keen sense of fashion, style, and a deep appreciation for beauty. Above all else, her family was most important.

Betty is survived by her son, Dr. Charles Corbit Wolfe, husband of Susan Wolfe, of Williamsburg, VA; her grandchildren: Zoe Rankin, wife of Matt Rankin, of Philadelphia, Mia Samuel, of Sante Fe, NM, Ava Samuel, of Philadelphia, Ella Samuel, wife of Joe Simoe, of Fort Collins, CO, Colin Samuel, of Philadelphia, Reid Wolfe, husband of Dicie Wolfe, of Smiths Station, AL, and Kelsey Wolfe, wife of Will Parson, of Millersville, MD; and her great-grandchildren, Tate and Callum. She will also be missed by several beloved nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Joanne Leyda Wolfe, of Wyomissing.

In addition to her husband, Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Corbit Wolfe.
