Elizabeth M. Spaar

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Spaar, 86, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late J. Ralph and Florence (Selak) Spaar.

Elizabeth is survived by a cousin, Mary Anne Zuegner of Maplewood, NJ. Elizabeth lived in Sinking Spring at the same home for the last 36 years. She attended the Day program at Prospectus Berco at 840 William Lane until her retirement and then enjoyed her days at home with her staff doing whatever she felt like doing! She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially coloring. She also enjoyed going to and watching any sporting event including drum majors. Drinking O'Doul's and acting drunk was a good time for Betty. Her laugh was infectious. Betty was a woman who liked to get her hair colored and her nails done on a regular basis. One never knew what color Betty's hair was going to be when you saw her next! If you were having a bad day, Betty would always make it better with her laugh or her sense of humor. She loved and was loved by everyone that entered her life. Betty will be missed greatly by her Prospectus Berco family and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
