Elizabeth K Ruhe

Elizabeth "Bette" K. Ruhe, 95, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away in her residence at the Highlands on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. She was the loving widow of Willard "Bill" L. Ruhe, Jr., who passed away in 2015 after 68 years of marriage.

Born in Lebanon, PA, to the late Rev. Charles and Hannah (Hauser) Keim, Bette graduated in 1947 from West Chester State College with her teaching certificate in physical education. She worked for some time as a physical education instructor for Germantown High School. Later in life Bette volunteered as a lunch aid at Wyomissing School District.

Bette was a long-time member of Atonement Lutheran Church.

For over 30 years, Bette enjoyed spending time with Willard at their summer home in Cape May, NJ. She always had a smile and upbeat attitude. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family. She loved watching her grandchildren's sports and activities when they were younger. She enjoyed watching or listening on the radio to her Philadelphia sports teams.

Bette's memory will be treasured by her son, Robert C. Ruhe (Laila), Mohnton; grandchildren: Matthew Ruhe (Maureen), Connecticut; Jennifer Johnson (Drew), Florida; Michael Ruhe; and Steven Ruhe; and great grandchildren Cali and Austin Ruhe and Thomas and Benjamin Johnson. Also surviving are her nephew Alan Keim, Lancaster, and niece Nancy Keim, California.

In addition to her husband, Bette was predeceased by her son, Thomas B. Ruhe, who is survived by his widow, Bernadette, Wyomissing. Bette was also predeceased by her brother Charles E. Keim Jr. and his wife, Eunice.

Her family would like to thank the Highland Personal Care Team for all the support and care they have given to Bette though out the years.
