Elizabeth “Betsy” Greiner Rampolla, 88, of Wernersville, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born April 6, 1938, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Greiner and Lelia Homan Driver.
Betsy’s early years were marked by a deep affection for family and the outdoors. She spent the summers of her childhood among relatives in Virginia, memories she cherished throughout her life. She developed a love of hunting and devoted herself to the care of her pony, Queenie.
A 1956 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Betsy went on to build a steady working life, holding positions with Luden’s Candy Factory, Meridian Bank, and Service Access Management in Reading. Her spare time was devoted to cooking and baking for her family, especially the traditional Sunday pasta dinners.
In 1961, she was united in marriage to Carl Rampolla, with whom she shared fifty-seven years of devotion until his passing in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Peter Rampolla.
Betsy is survived by her son, Robert Jay (Sheila) Rampolla of Reading; and by Cathy Mayernik, the partner of her late son, Charles, of Sinking Spring. She leaves behind three granddaughters, Leah Rampolla of Hawaii, Elisha (Michael) Pavlick of Havertown, and Lauren (Jenni) Rampolla of Reading; and four great-grandsons, William, Jack, Benjamin, and Parker, who were a source of great joy to her. She is further survived by many extended family members and a circle of dear friends.
The prayer service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory at 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19650, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Besty's honor to the Humane Veterinary Hospitals at 1729 N 11th St, Reading, PA 19604.
