Elizabeth May Poetter

Elizabeth May Ely Poetter, 92, of Wyomissing, passed away on July 12th at the Highlands at Wyomissing.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Alice (Bressler) Ely.

Her husband, R. Milton Poetter, passed away on June 25, 1980.

She was a graduate of the Reading High School and Wilson College.

Elizabeth was a social worker for Berks County Children and Youth Services for 20 years until her retirement in 1975.

She was on the advisory board for Berks County Children and Youth Services, and the Office of Aging. She was also a member of the Children's Program Committee at the Lutheran Home of Topton.

Elizabeth is a member of St. Mark's U.C.C., Reading.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Poetter) wife of Richard Field, Algonquin, Ill, two grandchildren Richard Field, Jr., Albuquerque, NM, and Rebecca Field of Chicago, Ill, and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Emily.

There is also one brother, Richard Ely of Reading.

She was predeceased by one brother, William Ely, Jr., and one sister, Jane Zieber.

There will be a Memorial Service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Highlands, 2000 Cambridge Ave., Wyomissing, Pa 19610. Friends may call from 10:00 until the service. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Highlands at the above address for the Elizabeth Poetter Living Memorial Fund. Edward J.
