Elizabeth Ruth Petersheim

Elizabeth Ruth (Hunsberger) Petersheim, 94, of Oley Township, died June 12, 2014 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

She was the wife of Elmer Mast Petersheim, whom she married June 29, 1947.

Born in Royersford, Montgomery County on March 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Mary (Guntz) Hunsberger.

She was a 1938 graduate of Spring-Ford High School.

Ruth and her husband were life long farmers in the Oley area.

She was a member of Ark Bible Chapel, Woodchoppertown, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for a number of years.

Ruth enjoyed homemaking, cooking and gardening.

She was the loving mother of four children: Linda L. (Petersheim), widow of C. Robert Shank of Chambersburg, Franklin County; Willis R., husband of Lydia S. (Graber) Petersheim of Oley; Nancy M. (Petersheim), wife of Dennis Willman of Oley and Duane A., husband of Tanya L. (Steiner) Petersheim of Oley.

Ruth is also survived by two sisters: Lois, widow of George Yoder of Soudertown and Ada, wife of Williard Geissinger of Royersford.

Other survivors include 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son: Laverne Petersheim, who died in March, 1948.

Ruth was also predeceased by two siblings: Esther (Hunsberger) Clemmer and Joseph Hunsberger.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 21st at 11:00 am in Oley Mennonite Church, 1571 Memorial Highway, Oley.

There will be no public visitation.

Burial will be in Oley Mennonite Cemetery, Oley.
