Elizabeth V. Ostrowski, 91, of Cumru Township, passed away February 26, 2013 in the Mifflin Center.
Her husband of nearly 55 years, Edwin J. Ostrowski, died in 2005. They were wed July 1, 1950.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Leo A. and Elizabeth A. (Noll) Neidert.
Elizabeth was a 1940 graduate of Mohnton High School.
She was a seamstress for William G. Leininger and from 1971 to her retirement in 1987 she was a cook for Broward County School District, FL.
Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also loved to cook and was a member of the cooking club at Mifflin Center. She was an avid sports enthusiast and played basketball and ran track and field in high school. She also enjoyed bowling, swimming and watching football and basketball on tv.
She is survived by her son, Fredrick Ostrowski, Shillington; her daughter, Dolores Reichert, Reading and her brother, Charles H. Neidert, Allentown. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her siblings: Leo, Marvin and Elfena.
A Memorial Service to honor Edwin and Elizabeth will be March 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
