Elizabeth M. Michael

Elizabeth Marie "Murphy" (Sullivan) Michael, 84, died August 11, 2007 in her Muhlenberg Township residence.

She was the widow of Paul Leon Michael, who died September 3, 1995.

Born July 22, 1923 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Gerald A. and Florence I. (Impink) Sullivan.

She was a 1941 graduate of Reading Catholic High School.

Murphy was employed by Grant's Department Store, Reading where she was known as the "cookie girl." She also worked at Western Electric, Muhlenberg Township.

She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Reading.

Murphy is survived by two sons, Timothy P. husband of Linda S. Michael and David L., husband of Jannet R. Michael all of Muhlenberg Township.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mary F. Palm of Wyomissing and Helen L. Sullivan of Reading.

There are also two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 AM in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held from 8-9 AM in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's R.C.
