Elizabeth R. Mchose

Elizabeth R. (Burkey) Miller McHose, 94 of Hamburg died April 24, 2011 in her residence. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edmund S. L. Miller on October 23, 1978 and her second husband, Charles L. McHose on August 10, 1988. Elizabeth was born in Hamburg on September 7, 1916 and was the daughter of the late Harry V. and Helen K. (Robinhold) Burkey. Elizabeth was the salutatorian of the Hamburg High School class of 1934. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1938. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg and was a former member of the Hamburg Women's Club and Easter Star. She loved to play bridge, travel and dine out. Elizabeth is survived by 2 daughters, Lynda B. widow of Rev. Stanley J. Wagner, Pottstown, Elizabeth (Betsy) widow of Gerald P. Leibensperger, West Lawn, and 1 son, Harry V. B. Miller husband of Donna Miller, Loudonville, NY. grandchildren, Matthew E. Wagner, Karen M. Sanford, Beth Ann Reis, Greta Leibensperger and Christopher W. Miller, great grandchildren, Dylan and Heather Wagner, Grace and Owen Sanford, and Zachary and Nicholas Reis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg, PA. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Christ, Third & Pine Streets, Hamburg, PA 19526.
