Elizabeth L. "Betty" McDonald, 75, of Reading, died October 12, 2007 in Reading Hospital, where she had been for two days after a lengthy illness.

She was the wife of Francis L. McDonald whom she married on October 11, 1969 by Msgr. Richard Loeper and the late Fr. Frederick Loeper.

Born in Reading on June 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Philip W. and Margaret M. (Mayer) Loeper.

Betty was on Office Administrator for 31 years for Atlantic Richfield, Philadelphia retiring in 1984.

She was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where she served as a volunteer for most of her life. She also initiated and ran the Church Bingo for many years.

Betty was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1950.

She is also survived by six brothers, Robert P. husband of Marie Loeper, Reading, Carl J. husband of Marian Loeper, Reading, Paul W. husband of LaRue Loeper, Temple, John E. husband of Margaret Jean Loeper, Spring Twp., Philip T. husband of Helen Loeper, Albuquerque, NM and Thomas E. husband of Margaret Loeper, Richmond, VA; and two sisters, Virginia M. (Loeper) widow of George Arentz, Reading and Jeanette A. (Loeper) wife of Robert Rubright, Wyomissing.

Although Elizabeth had no children of her own, she was the special "Aunt Betty" to 32 nieces and nephews and 74 great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
