Elizabeth C. "Dolly" "Betty" (Heath) Kinsey, 98, died January 3, 2014 in Manor Care, Sinking Spring.
She was married for 19 years to the late Robert D. Kinsey.
Elizabeth was born October 26, 1915, in Reading, to the late Howard and Catherine (Neihart) Heath.
She was predeceased by her twin brother, Bruce Heath, and older brother, Howard Heath.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1933. She also attended Albright College.
Her first jobs were at Grants, Whitners, and Pomeroys Department Store as an office clerk.
In 1960, when her husband her husband passed away, she replaced him as President/Treasurer of Reading Contracting Company. When Eugene Shirk was Mayor of Reading, Elizabeth worked in the City Hall Financial Department and became an officer of the city's credit union, as well as an officer for the Republican Woman's Club.
She served on the polls and was among those awarded to Voter's Hall of Fame for 50 consecutive years of voting.
Elizabeth was a long time member of the Business Professional Woman's Club.
As a member of the Berks Camera Club, she shared the slides of her trips to the Holy Lands, Japan, Europe, and Alaska with many churches and clubs.
As a former member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, she was confirmed, taught the beginners department, and sang in the choir. After marriage she joined Park EUB Church which merged and became Central Park United Methodist Church. She was a loyal member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wyomissing.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol L. Kinsey, Spring Township, with whom she resided for the past 5 years.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren: Catherine E. Kaucher, fiancée of Mathew Milano, Philadelphia, Christopher C. Kaucher, husband of Kristen, Fleetwood, and Curtis K. Kaucher, companion of Erin Knarr, Whitfield.
She is also survived by three great grandsons, Caden, Jack, and Connor, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Calvary United Methodist Church, 831 N. Wyomissing Blvd. Wyomissing, PA 19610. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service in the church. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church at the above address.
