Elizabeth Haldeman

Elizabeth (Frome) Haldeman, 91, died June 5, 2011 in her Bern Township residence.

She was married December 5, 1943 to James Flack Haldeman, who died February 19, 1998.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 8, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John Henry Frome and Bertha Mary (Kramer) Frome.

Elizabeth was a 1936 graduate of Doylestown High School.

She was an educational secretary for 14 years with the Schuylkill Valley School District, retiring in 1976.

Elizabeth was a past member of the Leesport Woman's Club. Reading Symphony Orchestra League, Reading Hospital Auxiliary and the Berks County Historical Society.

She is survived by three children: Kathleen Frome of Monterey, Massachusetts; James F. Jr., husband of Marsha T. (Theisson) Haldeman of York, PA and Donald F. Haldeman, husband of Mary Herr (Siegrist) Haldeman of Bern Township.

Elizabeth is also survived by five grandchildren: Christopher N. Haldeman, Elizabeth A. Haldeman, Peter J. Haldeman, Camille Maye and Aiyana Maye and one great granddaugher, Mia S. Leese.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Haldeman and a brother, John Henry Frome, Jr.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 am in Epler's Church, Leesport. A viewing will be held in the Church from 10:30 am until time of service. Burial will be in Epler's Cemetery.
