Elizabeth F. Deck

Elizabeth Fry (Jacobs) Deck, 89, formerly of Tuckerton Rd., Muhlenberg Township and York Road, Spring Township, died July 24th at 5:01 pm in St. Joseph's Hospital, where she had been since July 16th.

She was taken there from Berkshire Commons, Exeter Township, where she had been since 2000.

Deck was the widow of Richard Wilhelm Deck, who died March 31, 2001.

Born in Robeson Township, she was a daughter of the late Samuel James and Sallie Alberta (Fry) Jacobs.

She was a 1933 graduate of Birdsboro High School and a 1936 graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

Deck was employed as a registered nurse for a number of years at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She last for 15 years as a teachers aide for the Reading School District in the Special Education Center, before retiring in June 1985.

Deck was a member of Robeson Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Elizabeth (Deck) McGough of South Londondairy Township, Lebanon County and a son, William Richard Deck of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services will private at the convenience of the family. Rev. Verne Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Marion Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rt. 10 & Plow Road, Mohnton, Pa 19540. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
