Elizabeth C. Kerling

Elizabeth Caroline "Betty" Kerling, 91, of Laureldale, died December 12, 2008 in the Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Twp., where she had been a resident for almost 5 years.

She was married to the late Herbert W. Kerling who died April, 1989.

Born January 31, 1917 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Carl F. and Carrie M. (Kress) Meyer.

Elizabeth was employed by Narrow Fabric Company where she was the plant operator. She retired in 1982.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Surviving is a niece Carol A. (Gehrke), wife of Robert A. Dutt of Bern Township and two nephews Raymond R., husband of Jean M. (Groff) Gehrke of Robesonia and Carl Kirkland of Florida.

Elizabeth was predeceased by three brothers, Leroy, Herbert and Alferd Meyer; two sisters, Mildred (Meyer) Kirkland and Marie (Meyer) Gehrke; and two nieces Elmeda (Meyer)Gosnell and Lydia (Meyer) Cozzone.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Grant A. Wickert officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
