Elinor C. Bear

Elinor Charlotte (Thompson) Bear, 85, of Wyomissing, and formerly of Hamburg, died June 13, 2009 at the Highlands at Wyomissing.

She was the widow of Robert Solomon Bear, Esq., who died in 2003 and Milford R. Gerhart, who died in 1970.

Born November 19, 1923 in Chicago, IL, she was a daughter of the late Anton Theodore and Charlotte Olivia (Kringeland) Thompson.

Elinor was a 1941 graduate of Steinmetz High School, Chicago, IL.

She was employed as an executive secretary at Continental Can Company, Chicago, IL for six years.

Elinor was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shoemakersville.

Surviving are children; Bruce Paul, husband of Renee M. Gerhart of Cleveland, OH and James David, husband of Joy V. Gerhart of Exeter Township, and Mary Helen, wife of David Young of Southern Pines, NC.

In addition, there are five grandchildren: Heather, Elisa, Thompson, Gabriel and Cameron and a great-grandson, Henry.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Muhlenberg Township. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the chapel. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery.
