Elena Marie Kostival

Elena Marie (Accordino) Kostival, 80, of Kenhorst, died June 4, 2017, in the Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of Robert Cyril Kostival; they were married on January 16, 1960.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Fannie (Ugliuzza) Accordino.

She was employed by Ladd Knitting Mills for 30 years and later for V&S Sandwich Shop, Shillington for 18 years.

Elena was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield and was a previous member of St Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

First and foremost, she lived for being with her family. As a close second, she greatly enjoyed bingo and the casinos and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols. She also loved doing things others, including baking cakes and her special Italian cookies. In general, she just loved being around people and was a ray of light to all.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert M., husband of Lori Kostival, Wyomissing Hills; her daughter, Judith, wife of Joseph Guidara, Exeter Township; four grandchildren: Jeffrey Kostival, Brian Kostival, husband of Kate Kostival, Alison Kostival and Gabrielle Guidara; great grandchild-to-be, Gemma Kostival; three sisters: Mary Quartieri, Anna Mersinger, both of Colony Park and Rose Milanek, West Lawn; and many nieces and nephews.

Elena was predeceased by her brother, Frank Accordino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola RCC, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
