Eleanore M. Lindsey

Eleanore M. Lindsey, 81, died June 28, 2009 in her Temple residence.

He husband, Walter George Lindsey, died in November of 1981.

Born in Johnstown, she was a daughter of the late, Samuel and Hildagard (Zelina) Kurcin.

She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown earning a BA in Journalism and a minor in English.

Eleanore was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park. Other memberships included: Muhlenberg Community Chorus as well as several poetry societies.

She loved her family, gardening and music.

Eleanore is survived by four daughters, Margaret "Maggie" M., wife of John W. Shelly, Muhlenberg Twp.; Theresa "Terry" L., wife of Terry L. Hack, Ruscombmanor Twp.; Patricia I., wife of Douglas E. Wood, New Ringgold and Alice B. Meyerson, Temple. There are also 11 grandchildren: Elizabeth A. Giorgi, Raymond S. Giorgi, Chad J. Shelly, Hannah L. Shelly, Amanda M. Hack, Alex M. Hack, Timothy M., husband of Lindsey Haines, Thomas A. Haines, Wayne Baker, Daniel Baker and Jolyn Hickey. One nephew, David Marshall and one niece, Madeline Lowinger also survive her.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Christine E. Lindsey in 1991 and one sister, Phyllis Marshall.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
