Eleanor Schuhmann

Eleanor Jane Schuhmann, 91, passed into eternal life at The Highlands at Wyomissing, Friday evening, January 18, 2019, with her friends Linda and Penda by her side. The daughter of the late George L. and Ruth (Sotter) Schuhmann, she was born on September 4, 1927, in West Reading.

Eleanor was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1945, and Dickinson College, class of 1949.

Her parents built a home in Wyomissing in the 1950s. She and her sister Margaret, who predeceased Eleanor, resided there for many years with their beloved cats. They loved attending the Metropolitan Opera and the Reading Symphony, and traveling throughout the United States and abroad. They annually visited Lake Placid until their health would no longer permit.
