Eleanor Patricia Schaffer

Eleanor P. Schaffer, 90, of Wyomissing, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the care of Paoli Hospital. She was the loving wife of over 68 years to Joseph R. Schaffer.

She was born in Bridgeport, PA, to the late Timothy and Mary (Heebner) Blanche.

After raising her family, Eleanor took a position as a teacher's aide at Spring Ridge Elementary School, a job she enjoyed for many years until her retirement in the early 2000's.

In addition to her loving husband, Joseph, her memory will be treasured by their children: Laurene M. Smychynsky, wife of Michael J., of Wyomissing; Mark J. Schaffer, partner of Juliee Franey, of Phoenixville; and Steven R. Schaffer, husband of Kristen M., of Sinking Spring; grandchildren: Henry Smychynsky; August Smychynsky; Max J. Schaffer; Jake R. Schaffer; and Dr. Jillian Krause, wife of David; and great grandson, Theodore Krause. Eleanor is also survived by her sister, Patricia Hennessy, widow of Larry.

Eleanor was predeceased by several siblings.
