Eleanor V. Saweikis

Eleanor Veronica (Kobilis) Saweikis, 82, of Spring Township, died April 9, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Leo Robert Saweikis, whom she married June 10, 1950.

Born August 8, 1928 in Mt. Caramel, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Verna (Pollock) Kobilis.

Eleanor was employed in retail sales for many years working for various retailers, including John Wanamaker's.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield.

Truly loved by many, Eleanor enjoyed dining out, gardening and most of all, spending time with family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Donna M., wife of Dale A. Beissel of Wyomissing; Leo J., husband of Pamela E. Saweikis of Orlando, FL and Joyce A., wife of Richard L. Kramer of Mt. Penn.

Other survivors include two brothers, Edward and Leonard Kobilis and a sister-in-law, Barbara Deromedi of Kupmont, PA.

There is also a granddaughter, Jennifer A., wife of Robert R. Perez of Lower Alsace Township and a great grandson, Dominick D. Perez.

Eleanor was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and John Kobilis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St. Alban's Drive, Whitfield. A viewing will be held one hour prior to mass in the church. Burial will be in All Saint's Cemetery, Elysburg, PA.
