Eleanor A. Obold

Eleanor A. (Diefenderfer) Obold, 87, formerly of Berks County, died January 9th in Hesston, Kansas, where she had been since 1998.

She was the widow of James F. Obold, who died June 8, 1978.

Born in Berks County, she was a daughter of the late James T. and Elsie (Troelsch) Diefenderfer.

She worked for 15 years as the activity director at Frederick Mennonite Home, Frederick, Pennsylvania.

Obold was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church.

She is a graduate of Reading High School.

Obold is survived by a son, Frederick Obold of Hesston, Kansas and a daughter, Kathryn (Obold) Hunsberger of Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Other survivors include a half-brother, James Diefenderfer.

There are also 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
