Eleanor R. Hill

Eleanor Hill, formerly of Reading, having just celebrated her 90th birthday, peacefully passed into Jesus' waiting arms on October 2, 2011.

She had resided at the Traditions Nursing Home in Bath, OH. The staff, as well as the patients, loved her for her tender smile and her candid sense of humor. Like us, they know she loved Jesus.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Heck and Salmone R. (Weidenhammer) Flagg.

Soon after graduating from Reading High School in 1939, Eleanor met the love of her life, Robert A. Kline; they were married in 1940. Robert died in Reading at the age of 84.

Eleanor married Paul Hill of Reading in 1973. She devoted her life to her children as a homemaker and mother. In 1955, the Reading Times awarded her the coveted title of "Cook of the Week" and her recipe, a one-panned dinner, became a longtime favorite.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook their favorite dishes when they visited her. She was a dedicated mother who, later in her life, worked two jobs to support them.

She was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church.

She is survived by her three children: Robert A., husband of Sandra Kline, Barberton, OH; Judi A., wife of Kenneth Voss, II, Atlanta, GA and Timothy J., husband of Valerie Kline, Sinking Spring. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren: Robert Kline, Thomas Kline, Brian Kline, Kristen Robinson, Heidi McFarland, Kenneth Voss, III, Christie Kline, Cassandra Kline and Victoria Kline and her seven great-grandchildren: Jack, Jake, Josh, James, Mackenzie, Olivia and Claire.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Heck and her first husband, Robert Kline.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Charles Evans. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
