Eleanor F. Caltagirone

Eleanor F. Caltagirone, 90, formerly of Reading, passed away November 6, 2015 in the Mifflin Center.

She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel R. Caltagirone,on January 29, 1999.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John and Madeline (Salvatore) Barrasso.

She was a 1943 graduate of Reading High School.

Eleanor was employed by S.S.Kresge's for thirty three years before retiring in 1978.

She is survived by her son, Mark S., husband of Debbie Caltagirone, Wyomissing and two grandchildren: Timothy Caltagirone and Andrea, wife of Michael Harenza both of Wyomissing.

In addition to her husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her siblings: Sue Barrasso, Betty Bodey, Florence Coggeshall, Jenny Marmontello, Anthony Barrasso, John Barrasso, Earl Barrasso, and William Barrasso.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 740 Cherry St, West Reading, PA 19611. A viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. in the church. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Janus School, 205 Lefever Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552. Edward J.
