Eleanor Sadie Bowman

Eleanor Sadie Bowman, 92, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died September 12, 2013 in Spruce Manor, West Reading.

She was the wife of Warren Leo Bowman who died July 25, 1984.

Born October 25, 1920 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Nathan A. Berger and Lottie Arlene (Lockwood) Barr.

Eleanor was involved with the Berks County Senior Citizen's Council, Inc. as well as The Horizon, which was also a Senior Citizen Organization. She was a past member of Laureldale Democratic Club.

She loved playing cards, which she did until a few weeks ago and was an outstanding player.

Surviving are her four children: Harry, husband of Patsy A. (Snyder) Berger of Wernersville; Warren L. Bowman, Jr. of Reading; Barry L. Bowman of Laureldale and Kevin E. Bowman of Flying Hills.

Also surviving are three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family of Eleanor would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Spruce Manor for their outstanding care for her.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 11:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
