Eleanor H. Allyn

Eleanor H. (Henderson) Allyn, 97, of Country Meadows, Wyomissing and formerly of West Reading, died October 8th at 8:30am in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, where she had been since August 18th.

She was the widow of Charles C. Allyn, who died May 15, 1966.

Born in Hingham, MA, she was a daughter of Gustavus and Mary (Maynard) Henderson.

Allyn is a 1927 graduate of Colby Academy, Hingham, MA.

She later attended The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA.

Allyn was a graduate of Hartford Art School of the University of Hartford (Conn).

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Allyn of Reading and a son, Peter H. Allyn of Bluffton, South Carolina.

There are also three grandsons and two great grandsons.

Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Reading Symphony Youth Orchestras, 147 North 5th Street, Reading, Pa 19601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
