Elaine E. Morin

Elaine E. (Smale) Morin, 88, passed away March 18, 2016, in Berks Heim.

Her husband, Louis A. Morin, passed away September 23, 2005.

Born in Palmerton, PA she was the daughter of the late Roy and Edith (Smith) Smale.

She was a graduate of Palmerton High School and the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Elaine served in the U.S. Nursing Core during World War II.

Elaine was the Director of Nursing Care of the West Reading Convalescent Center which is now Spruce Manor. She later retired from the Denver Nursing Home as a registered nurse.

She is survived by two daughters: Constance J., wife of Howard Glahn; and Christine Ann Hatt, both of Mohnton. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive her.

Elaine was a life-time member of the Nursing Alumni Association, which she enjoyed her monthly luncheons with the girls.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two siblings, Lee Smale and Dorothy Steinke.

Services will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. A viewing will be Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
