Eileen V. Myers

Eileen Verona Myers, 66, died November 27, 2011 in her Reading residence.

She was the wife of Leroy Myers who died in 2009.

Born December 10, 1944 in St. Catherine, Jamaica, she was a daughter of Edna Verona (Howell) Mattis and the late Joscelyn Elijah Mattis.

Eileen was employed as a teacher for over 40 years, last working as a substitute teacher with Reading School District in 2007.

She was a member of Bethel AME Church, Reading.

Surviving are two sons, Shain Myers of Brooklyn, NY and Arlanzo Myers of Reading.

Other survivors include eight siblings: Milecent Ashley, Gene Mattis, Cynthia Mattis, Derick Mattis, Earl Mattis, Lloyd Mattis, Lenworth Mattis and Julith Mattis, all of St. Catherine, Jamaica.

She is also survived by a grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was predeceased by two brothers, Rupert and Barrington Mattis.

Services will be Tuesday, December 6th at 11 a.m. in Bethel AME Church, 330 W. Windsor Street, Reading, PA 19601. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service in the church. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
