Eileen R. Lape

Eileen R. Lape, 67, of Leesport, passed away February 17, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the loving and caring wife of Byron N. Lape, whom she married 42 years ago on June 13, 1970.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Marjorie L. (Barker) Ernst.

She was a 1963 graduate of Wilson High School.

Eileen worked at her family's flower shop, Ernst Flower Shop, West Lawn; the American Cancer Society, Reading and worked as an administrative assistant for Carpenter Steel Technology, retiring in 1996.

She was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leesport.

Eileen enjoyed biking, skiing, golfing, photography, music, dancing, and, most of all, spending time with her grandkids and family. Mom mom will be greatly missed and remembered forever.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Leanna K. Lape-Stoudt wife of Joe Stoudt, Leesport and her son, Robert B. Lape, husband of Theresa C. Lape, Kenhorst. Also surviving are her sister, Linda Ernst-Moyer-Piatt, Maine; three grandchildren, three nieces, four nephews, and lots more loving friends and family.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
