Edwin Lee Williams

Edwin Lee Williams, Sr., 74, died January 2, 2013 in his Ruscombmanor Township residence.

He was the husband of Ruth Elaine (Schlaybach) Williams, who died January 11, 2002.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Philip William, Sr. and Kathryn Marie (Haines) Williams.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

Edwin was employed as a well driller with C.S. Garber & Sons, Boyertown for 46 years, retiring in 2005.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Pikeville Club, Keystone Fire Company, Boyertown and Oley Fire Company.

Surviving is a son, Edwin L. Williams, Jr. of Ruscombmanor Township; grandson, Edwin L. Wilson and two great granddaughters.

Other survivors include two siblings: Vivian Hafer of Birdsboro and Edna Babb of Boyertown.

Edwin was predeceased by five siblings: Philip W. Williams, Jr., John A. Williams, Bruce J. Williams, Thelma Dorell and Ruthann Conrad.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
